Director – Daniel Rey

Daniel Rey is a Full Professor at the University of Vigo since 2008. He graduated as a geologist at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 1985 and obtained a PhD at The University of Birmingham in (UK) in 1992. He coordinates the Marine and Environmental Geology research group, where he started the Paleomagnetism Laboratory in 1995 and promoted the Environmental Magnetism studies in Spain. In 2018 he was appointed Director of UVigo Marine Research Centre.

Innovation & Tech Transfer – Cristina Quelle

CIM-UVigo R&D+i Coordinator, she is a Graduate in Marine Science, Master in Coastal Management and Coastal Engineering. She was the Technology Transfer Unit manager in Campusdomar International Excellence Campus and researcher in the Marine Pollution Department at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography. Additionally she has worked in coastal and environmental consultancy in private companies. She has an ample experience in the management of marine projects at the regional, national and international level in collaboration with public and private institutions.

Research – Moncho Gómez Gesteira

Ramón:_Gómez_Gesteira

Full Professor since 2010. Degree (1990) and PhD (1995) in Physics at University of Santiago de Compostela. He coordinated the Environmental Physics Laboratory Group (EPHYSLAB) from 2004 to 2020, was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science between 2003 and 2009 and head of Research at Campus Auga from 2014 to 2019. Focuses his activity in the fields of physical oceanography, coastal engineering, change climate, marine renewable energy and computational fluid dynamics.

ECIMAT Director – Jose Manuel García Estévez

Full Proffessor at the University of Vigo since 2020. His research lines focus on the diagnostics, prevention and control of parasitic diseases in aquatic organisms. He is the author of a patent of an inmunological technique for the detection of Enteromyxum scophthalmi, one of the main sanitary threats to the comercial production of cultured turbot (Psetta maxima). He is the coordinator of the inter-University Master on Marine Biology and he is currently the Director of ECIMAT, UVigo´s Marine Research Station.

Manager – Charo de la Huz

Doctor in biology from the University of Vigo. She has specialized on ecology of the macrofauna of exposed beaches in Galicia and on project management. She has worked on numerous research projects to study marine ecosystems, and has worked as a managener of Teaching, Talent Recruitment and Internationalization at Campus do Mar from 2010 to 2017.
