The Coastal Ecology research group (Ecocost, EZ1) of the Department of Ecology and Animal Biology of the University of Vigo and belonging to the Center for Marine Research (CIM-UVigo) offers the following job position within the project: ““Understanding the role of Zostera grasslands in the maintenance of shellfish resource populations in a climate change scenario (ZEUS) ”(RTI2018-095583- B-I00), financed by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program.
Job description:
- Duration: 10 months
- Expected start date: Between 15th September and 1st October 2020.
- Part-time position
- Salary: 807 €/moth (gross salary approx.)
Requirements:
- Degree in Economy, biology, Ecology, Environmental Sciences or geography.
Elegibility criteria:
- Experience in research on fishing and / or shellfish issues.
- Experience in the design of surveys.
- Experience in participation / organization of participatory workshops.
- Experience in conducting systematic reviews of scientific literature.
- Experience in reporting.
Tasks:
- Analyze the state of the art regarding research, programs and policies related to shellfishing, seagrass beds and marine ecosystem services.
- Design of surveys to carry out interviews with interest groups.
- Analyze quantitative data (official statistics, reports) and data from surveys.
- Analyze and understand different impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems, and the different scenarios of the IPCC.
