The ECOTOX research team (Coastal Ecology research group, CIM-UVigo) is looking for a postdoctoral researcher.
Job description:
- Full-time position (40 h/week) starting by July 2020
- Starting date: July 2020
- Fix term contract for 3 years (6 months trial period)
- Salary: up to 35.000 € /year (gross pay) depending on qualification
Tasks:
- Laboratory research on degradation and effects of biopolymers in the environment using aquatic experimental models
- Laboratory research on effects of polymers and plastic additives on model aquatic organisms at molecular level (gene expression, omics).
- Preparation of manuscripts and reports
- Dissemination activities: assistance to international congresses, popular science.
Requirements:
- PhD in biology, environmental sciences or alike
- Experience in biodegradation tests, preferably in aquatic environment (e.g. ISO-14851, ISO-16221)
- Excellent knowledge on molecular techniques applied to environmental sciences (electrophoresis, qPCR, enzyme activities, ELISA, omics).
- Fluent English speaker
- Capability to conduct animal testing according to EU regulations (Directive 2010/63/EU, Orden ECC/566/2015).
