The 13th of December at 1pm, Visiting Professor Mikko Heino from the University of Bergen and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) will present his work on reconciling stakeholder conflicts at the Interdisciplinary Fisheries Seminar Series (IFS). IFS is the new seminar series at the University of Vigo presented by Campus do Mar and ECOBAS.
Mikko’s seminar entitled “Reconciling stakeholder conflicts in managing fish resources through integrating biological and socio-economic perspectives” will cover management options for capelin and cod fisheries in Norway and how apparently competing stakeholders’ objectives can be reconciled. You can read more about Mikko´s work on fisheries-induced adaptive changes in fish, density dependence in fish population dynamics, and other fascinating topics like blue whiting in his website.
The seminar will take place in Room 07 of the School of Economics of the University of Vigo and will be recorded and uploaded very soon on our websites (Future Oceans Lab, ECIMAT and Campus do Mar website) and social media.
