Place and term:
Research group: EPHYSLAB (FA9), Universidade de Vigo
Location: Edificio Campus da Auga, Ourense (Spain)
Duration: 12 months, full time (37.5 hours per week)
Planned start date: June (estimated time) or after the resolution of applications
Your future role:
– Numerical modelling of point absorbers
– Validation with our own experimental data
– Survivability study of WECs using numerical modelling
– Researching and improving open-source SPH solvers (https://dual.sphysics.org/)
– Writing and contributing to publications
We are looking for someone with:
– A PhD degree in Civil, Mechanical or Computer Science Engineering or similar
– Demonstrated experience on modelling of wave energy converters
– Experience in any of the following is advantageous: SPH modelling, GPU computing
– English language skills
– Good social skills
