The Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) has awarded the University of Vigo a total of €311,650 to develop ten science communication projects to be carried out during the 2026–2027 period. This funding, granted under the 2025 call, strengthens the university’s upward trend in securing this type of support, surpassing the results achieved in previous editions.
Of the ten funded projects, three are new initiatives, while the remaining seven were previously selected in earlier calls and will continue with new editions, bringing science and innovation closer to society.
Among the projects focused on creative science communication, the Marine Research Centre (CIM) has secured FECYT funding to develop the second edition of Mar Emerxente: Marine Science and Visual Arts, an initiative that fosters dialogue between art and marine science through collaboration between artists and researchers.
The CIM holds the CIGUS recognition awarded by the Xunta de Galicia, which certifies the quality and impact of its research. Its activities are co-funded by the European Union through the ERDF 2021–2027 Programme.
