The Museo do Mar hosts the ImpactARTE exhibition, an initiative led by CIM researcher Ángela Fontán Bouzas and funded by FECYT, which explores how art can contribute to understanding the effects of climate change on coastlines. The exhibition combines art, history and science to reconstruct the climate memory of coastal ecosystems through artistic representations of the shoreline.
As a complementary activity, Dr. Daniel Cajade Pascual, professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and member of the project, will give three public talks in the Auditorium of the Museo do Mar: on Tuesday, June 16 at 11:30 and 16:30, and on Wednesday, June 17 at 11:30. He will explain how works of art can act as historical records capable of providing information about the evolution of coastal landscapes, extreme climate events and the relationship between communities and the sea over time, offering an innovative perspective on the study of climate change.
