Work to be Performed

Completion of the doctoral thesis related to the regional-scale estimation of moisture and heat transport deficits associated with drought events and combined drought and heatwave events, using modeling and decomposition based on the physical processes involved.

Functions to be Performed

Completion of the doctoral thesis related to:
Development of Lagrangian models.
Atmospheric data analysis.
Integration of regional variables.
Moisture and heat modeling.
Validation and calibration of model results.
Visualization and communication of results.
Research and development.

Gross Monthly Salary

€1,600.00 (including prorated extra payments)

REQUIREMENTS AND CANDIDATE MERITS

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Degree or Bachelor’s Degree with Master’s Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics.
Admission to a full-time doctoral program at the University of Vigo or being eligible to enroll at the time of contract formalization.

Item No. 1

Academic background related to physical sciences, environmental sciences or engineering — 30 points

Item No. 2

Programming experience — 15 points

Item No. 3

Experience in handling large-scale climate datasets — 15 points

Item No. 4

Experience in atmospheric dispersion models — 25 points

Item No. 5

Personal interview. The interview will be conducted only with the 3 candidates who achieve a minimum of 50 points in the sum of merits — 15 points
