Tasks to be carried out
Development of a global database of benthic foraminifera for the Quaternary period.
Search, selection and organization of articles and reports containing quantitative and qualitative information on benthic foraminifera species, paleoenvironmental conditions and sedimentary ages in recent and Quaternary sediments.
Digitization of data and metadata.
Design and implementation of a structured database for benthic foraminifera data, ensuring consistency, scalability and efficient data integration.
Integration of heterogeneous datasets from multiple sources into a unified and coherent data framework.
Data archiving, cleaning and harmonization, including taxonomic standardization and alignment with existing reference databases.
Data coding and structuring following established standards (e.g., Darwin Core), ensuring interoperability and future data mobilization (e.g., GBIF).
Participation in project meetings.
Attendance at conferences.
Gross monthly salary
€1,600.00 (including prorated extra payments)

REQUIREMENTS AND MERITS
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or vocational training (FP2). Minimum English level B2 or equivalent

Proven work experience as a technician in universities, public institutions or private companies for at least 1 year — 30 points
Item nº2
Demonstrated experience in database management and structuring — 25 points
Item nº3
Demonstrated experience in data handling using R, Python, MATLAB or similar tools, as well as knowledge or specific training in artificial intelligence applied to data mining — 20 points
Item nº4
Demonstrated experience in managing large biodiversity datasets — 10 points
Item nº5
Personal interview. Only the 5 candidates who reach a minimum of 50 points in the sum of merits will be interviewed — 15 points
