The CIM is collaborating in the I Galician Congress on Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics (GIAA 2025), which will be held on 17 and 18 July at the Redeiras Building of the Universidade de Vigo (R/ da Ribeira do Berbés, 11). The event was created with the aim of building a community for scientific exchange and outreach in astronomy and astrophysics from Galicia, fostering synergies among research centres, observatories, and partner institutions.
As a preliminary activity, on 16 July at 21:00 h, the public lecture “Discovering the Empire of the Sun” will take place at the Auditorium of the Concello de Vigo. The talk will be delivered by Eduardo Ojero Pascual, an expert from the European Space Agency (ESA). The session will include a musical performance by the group Meigas Fóra da A.C. Tangaraño and a nighttime sky observation in Praza do Rei, in collaboration with astronomical associations and local entities (or an alternative activity in case of bad weather).
