Next Tuesday, 10 June at 11:00 h., the Future Oceans Lab (FOL) of the CIM is organizing a seminar with Dr. Michele L. Barnes, Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and an expert in sustainability and social-ecological networks. Her talk, entitled “Tangled Tides: Social-Ecological Networks and Resilience in Marine Systems,” will explore how connections between people and ecosystems influence the resilience of coastal communities in the face of climate change. Drawing on case studies from Kenya and Papua New Guinea, she will examine the relationship between social cooperation, biodiversity, and human well-being.
The activity will be held in a hybrid format, with a link available upon request at futureoceanslab@uvigo.gal. It will be conducted in English and is open to the entire university and research community.
