Marta Conde, researcher in the Fish Physiology Group of the CIM, is about to begin a new professional stage as a distinguished researcher at the University of Vigo. Sergio Gómez, Cristina Delgado and Santiago Pozo will also do the same. They are the ones selected in the UVigo 2020 Research Talent Retention Program, which aims to recruit people with an outstanding track record who have developed their postdoctoral activity at the University of Vigo. The contract as full-time temporary staff, in the distinguished researcher modality, will last three years, extendable for another two. During this time, they will continue to develop their projects in the fields of physiology, physical chemistry, ecology and animal biology and the conservation of immovable cultural heritage, respectively
The researcher, until now a postdoctoral staff member of the Xunta de Galicia in modality B in the Department of Functional Biology and Health Sciences, specifically in the Physiology Area, explains that this is an opportunity to continue working and improving her CV to be able to apply for stabilization programs or contracts at the University. “It also allows me to continue with my own line of research that I started two years ago and continue directing the two doctoral theses that are currently underway,” she adds.
Marta Conde cursou Ciencias do Mar en Vigo e, tras o paso pola empresa privada, regresou cunha bolsa FPI para realizar a tese de doutoramento baixo a dirección de José Luis Soengas e Jesús Míguez e posteriormente continuar coa etapa de posdoutoramento. A súa actividade investigadora céntrase no estudo dos sistemas neuroendocrinos e metabólicos que controlan o apetito en especies de peixes de interese na acuicultura. Recentemente, iniciou unha liña de investigación propia baseada no estudo da regulación hedónica do apetito en peixes, e en concreto da implicación dos sistemas cannabinoide e opioide nesta regulación. Coa vista posta nos próximos tres anos como investigadora distinguida plantéxase “seguir desenvolvendo e afondando nesta liña, codirixindo as teses que están en marcha e tamén pretendo dirixir novos TFG/TFM. Nos vindeiros anos espero tamén poder ter a posibilidade de conseguir financiamento propio para algún novo proxecto como investigadora principal e, ao mesmo tempo, seguirei cos labores docentes e intentarei conseguir a acreditación de Profesor Titular, o cal me daría a posibilidade de seguir contratada dous anos”.
