Research staff from the Palaeoclimatology Lab (GEOMA, CIM-UVigo) will lead an international project that will contribute to quantifying the planet’s response to a temperature increase of 1.5 – 2°C. The study will be carried out through a meticulous analysis of marine sediments from the Tropical Indian Ocean deposited in the last 500,000 years.
The project, led by Gianluca Marino, has just been selected by the latest call for the National Research and Innovation Plan of the Ministry of Science, and has the collaboration of prestigious entities such as The University of Arizona, the Federal Technical University of Zürich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich) and The Australian National University.
