The Coastal Ecology research group (Ecocost, EZ1) of the Department of Ecology and Animal Biology of the University of Vigo and belonging to the Marine Research Center (CIM-UVigo) offers the following contract within the project: “Understanding the role of Zostera meadows in the maintenance of populations of seafood resources in a climate change scenario (ZEUS)” (RTI2018-095583-B-I00), funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities within the framework of the FEDER Operational Program.
General conditions:
- Duration: 10 months
- Estimated start date: Between September 15 and October 1, 2020.
- Working hours: Part time
- Remuneration: 807 gross/month approx.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Sciences or Geography.
Evaluation criteria:
- Experience in research on fisheries and/or shellfish issues.
- Experience in survey design.
- Experience in participation/organization of participatory workshops.
- Experience in conducting systematic reviews of scientific literature.
- Experience in reporting.
Tasks to be performed:
- Analyze the state of the art regarding research, programs and policies related to shellfishing, seagrass meadows and marine ecosystem services.
- Design of surveys to conduct interviews with interest groups.
- Analyze quantitative data (official statistics, reports) and data from surveys.
- Analyze and understand different impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems, and the different IPCC scenarios.
