The Ecotox research team of the Coastal Ecology group of the CIM-UVigo, offers a postdoctoral contract within the GLAUKOS project.
General conditions:
- Full time (40 hrs/week), starting in July 2020
- Duration: 3 years (6-month probationary period)
- Salary: up to 35,000 eur/year (gross salary), depending on the qualification of the candidate.
- Joining date: July 2020
Tasks to be performed:
- Investigation of biopolymer degradation processes in the environment and its impact on it, using aquatic experimental models.
- Research on the effects of polymers and plastic additives in aquatic model organisms, at the molecular level (gene expression, omics).
- Preparation of manuscripts, reports and publications.
- Dissemination activities: attendance at international conferences, popular science.
Requirements:
- PhD in biology, environmental sciences or similar.
- Experience in biodegradation testing, preferably in an aquatic environment (eg ISO-14851, ISO-16221).
- Excellent knowledge of molecular techniques applied to environmental sciences (electrophoresis, qPCR, enzymatic activities, ELISA, omics).
- Fluent command of the English language
- Academic qualifications and/or relevant professional accreditations to carry out animal testing, according to EU regulations (Directive 2010/63/EU, Order ECC/566/2015).
