The Ecotox research team of the Coastal Ecology group of the CIM-UVigo, offers two positions within the GLAUKOS project.
Position 1: Project Manager
General conditions:
- Full time (40 hrs/week), starting in April 2020
- Duration: 3 years (practice period of 6 months)
- Salary: up to 35,000 eur/year (gross salary), depending on qualification
Tasks to be performed:
- Coordination of the Ecotox team activities within the Glaukos H2020 Project
- Communications and meetings with other partners
- Delivery of report of results, milestones and deliverables to the coordinator
- Project administration (accounting, contact with suppliers).
- Assistance in the search for new financing opportunities and preparation of proposals.
Requirements
- Experience in managing research projects in international environments.
- Excellent communication skills: English and Spanish spoken fluently
- Good knowledge of environmental toxicology.
- Good knowledge of EU research funding schemes.
- Knowledge in web page editing will be an asset

Position 2: Postdoctoral contract
General conditions:
- Full time (40 hrs/week), starting in April 2020
- Duration: 3 years (practice period of 6 months)
- Salary: up to 35,000 eur/year (gross salary), depending on qualification
Tasks to be performed:
- Research on degradation and effects of biopolymers in the environment using experimental aquatic models.
- Research on the effects of polymers and plastic additives in aquatic model organisms at the molecular level (gene expression, omics).
- Preparation of manuscripts and reports.
- Dissemination activities: attendance at international conferences, popular science.
Requirements:
- PhD in biology, environmental sciences or similar.
- Excellent knowledge of marine ecotoxicology, biomarkers and bioassays.
- Excellent knowledge of molecular techniques applied to environmental sciences (electrophoresis, qPCR, enzymatic activities, ELISA, omics).
- Fluent spoken English
- Ability to carry out tests with animals in accordance with EU regulations (Directive 2010/63 / EU, Order ECC / 566/2015).
