The CIM-UVigo offers a position as a technical staff in the research project “Optimization of the Integral Cultivation of the Sea Urchin Paracentrotus lividus (Lamarck, 1816)”, funded by the Biodiversity Foundation in the Pleamar call, included in the Resolution of October 10, 2019 of the Biodiversity Foundation Call. The tasks to be carried out by the research technician will be to support the development of the designed experiments, collaboration in the tasks of marking and repopulation, maintenance and cleaning of the tanks, feeding the urchins, or others related to the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Marine Sciences or related degrees.
- B1 driving license.
Evaluation criteria
Professional experience (60%):
- Accredited professional experience in the application of biology to the management and exploitation of marine resources, especially in the field of echinoderms (10%)
- Proven knowledge in cultivation techniques, sampling techniques and methods of studying the biology of Sea Urchins (20%)
- Accredited professional experience in companies in the aquaculture sector or marine research centers in marine cultures and especially with echinoderms. (20%)
- Accredited experience in scientific dissemination and transfer activities in the fishing sector. (10%)
Training (20%):
Training courses or specialization related to the technical profile.
Interview (20%):
The committee may call for an interview candidates who have achieved a score higher than 50% in the Experience and Training sections.
Conditions
- Group 1 employment contract.
- Dedication: Full time, part-time.
- Start of the contract: December 1, 2019 (subject to the signing and conditions of the financing agreement).
- Gross salary: 2200 euros/month approx.
- Weekly working hours: 37.5 hours/week.
- Contract duration: 2 years (6-month probationary period)
- Work center: Toralla Marine Sciences Station – Toralla Island (Coruxo, Vigo).
