On the occasion of his visit to the Future Oceans Lab (FOL) and the University of Vigo, on Tuesday, February 26, Professor Jorge Garcia Molinos from Hokkaido University (Japan) will present his work on climate change and marine biodiversity to the Campus do Mar community with the lecture “Reorganization of marine biodiversity under climate change: new challenges and opportunities”.
Professor Garcia will explain how climate change can affect global fisheries and how these changes represent new challenges and opportunities for the conservation of marine biodiversity and ecosystems, exploring different management strategies to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
Jorge is a renowned scientist with many years of experience in empirical and modeling ecological and climate studies, based at the Arctic Research Center in Japan. During his visit to the Future Oceans Lab (FOL), he will work on future scientific collaborations with the CLOCK project.
The lecture will take place in Room 1 of the Miralles Building at the University of Vigo at 12:00. The talk will be in English and broadcast live through Campus do Mar. For those following remotely, the seminar will be published very soon on our websites and social media channels.
