On November 6, ECIMAT hosts a new conference on sustainable aquaculture

On November 6, a new sustainable aquaculture conference will be held at ECIMAT where the results of the VALACUI project “Innovative Strategies for the Valorization of Aquaculture Waste“, led by AZTI with the collaboration of PTEPA, will be presented.

The VALACUI project, funded by the Biodiversity Foundation and the Ministry for Ecological Transition, through the Pleamar Program of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund, aims to promote sustainable aquaculture and the efficient use of resources by promoting innovation and knowledge transfer in the field of valorization of aquaculture by-products.

The conference will take place in the ECIMAT conference room between 10:00 and 14:00 and is aimed at the agents of the aquaculture value chain (aquaculturists, processors and by-product managers). The meeting aims to present and analyze the results of the project, share knowledge with other interested agents and learn about the problems and expectations in the valorization of aquaculture by-products. In addition, examples of valorization options and their application in different scenarios will be discussed.

This first day, which will take place in Vigo, will be followed by two others in Valencia (November 14) and Malaga (November 15) and a final session in Madrid (November 26), where the conclusions of the previous workshops, the final results of the project and the “Guide to the valorization of aquaculture by-products” will be presented.

Attendance at the conference is free and prior registration is required, as space is limited. To register, please complete the application form at this link.

The conference, which will be held at ECIMAT, has the support of the Marine Research Center of the University of Vigo and the Campus do Mar.
