Course “Introduction to bioinformatics tools for research”, 30 and 31 October at ECIMAT

On October 30 and 31, 2018, the course “Introduction to bioinformatics tools for research” will be held at ECIMAT, organized by staff from the Coastal Ecology research group of the Marine Research Center of the University of Vigo and taught by Dr. Alberto Molares, a bioinformatics technician integrated into the marine ecotoxicology group.

The course is primarily aimed at marine science researchers who need to improve their skills in handling large databases of biological information and in the use of large volumes of data. The course will demonstrate the most widely used and completely open access bioinformatics tools for handling genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, etc. data.

The training activity, lasting 4 hours, is free for the recipients and will take place in the morning to facilitate attendance. The capacity will be limited to 10 students. Registrations will be open until October 23, 2018. To register, it is necessary to send an email with your name and current affiliation to amolares@uvigo.es.
