Between June 19 and 23, the 9th edition of the university extension course “Aquaculture Farm Management” will take place at ECIMAT. The course will be taught by 12 speakers who are specialists in aquaculture and business management and will consist of 9 seminars and 4 field trips.
The objectives of the course are the following:
- To understand the cultivation process of various species, including both fish and bivalve mollusks.
- To understand the threats and opportunities that aquaculture activities pose to the environment.
- To identify the strengths and weaknesses of existing aquaculture farms.
- To identify the key elements that will determine the future of the aquaculture sector.
- To learn about designing competitive strategies suitable for the aquaculture sector.
- To learn tools and strategies for forecasting and setting prices in the aquaculture sector.
- To understand how to define marketing strategies for creating value in aquaculture products.
- To understand and use the tools and analyses for assessing the feasibility of aquaculture farm projects.

- Spanish Institute of Oceanography. Visit Centro Oceanográfico de Vigo (Cabo Estai, Vigo) to learn about aspects of research in the process of breeding and fattening fish in ponds.
