“I International Symposium on Advances in Marine Mussel Research”, October 26 – 27 at the University of Vigo

Between 26 and 27 October, the University of Vigo will host the “I International Symposium on Advances in Marine Mussel Research” (AMMR2016). This symposium aims to address the latest advances in research on different species of mussels from a multidisciplinary perspective that covers, among others, the fields of genomics, proteomics, immunology, physiology, ecology and aquaculture. Mussels represent an excellent model for studying evolutionary biology, ecology, ecotoxicology, climate change, etc. and constitute a key group in aquaculture, as they are marketed worldwide.

On Wednesday 26th the program will include 7 talks by guest speakers and 5 short communications, previously selected from the abstracts sent by the participants. The program will end with a poster session. On Thursday 27th there will be a ferry excursion to the Cíes Islands with those participants who wish to do so, this activity is optional. Registration is FREE and includes coffee breaks. The visit to Cíes is optional and costs 20. The deadline for registration is October 20th.
