On April 9, at 11:30, Professor Emilio Rolán will give a review of 50 years dedicated to the study of different families of small gastropod mollusks, with a special focus on the genus Conus.
Emilio Rolán is an Ad Honorem researcher at the Museum of Natural Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela. A pediatrician and Doctor of Biology, Emilio has carried out numerous scientific/research and artistic activities throughout his life.
In 1963, he began his work in Malacology, creating a mollusk collection that currently contains more than 25,000 cataloged lots, in addition to a large number of lots and material pending study, with an estimated total likely exceeding two million shells and specimens. Most of this material was obtained through his own collection efforts in numerous countries around the world. The collection is currently housed at the MUSEO DE HISTORIA NATURAL LUÍS IGLESIAS of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
