Learning to diagnose fish diseases

Representatives from leading aquaculture companies are meeting this week at ECIMAT to participate in the VIII edition of the Fish Pathological Diagnosis Course. This edition, organized by the FEUGA Foundation in collaboration with ECIMAT – University of Vigo, the Fish Pathology Diagnostic Service of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and the company Skretting España SA, has as its main objective to provide participants with a comprehensive, detailed, and integrative overview of the main diagnostic tools available for identifying and assessing issues related to fish health.

Through lectures, discussions, and practical sessions, the participants (professionals in fish pathology or fish health management) are deepening their understanding of the main diagnostic techniques, with the goal of learning and selecting the most suitable ones for their fields of work, while also acquiring the knowledge necessary for their application and interpretation. The course is based on interaction between attendees and instructors, so that everyone collaborates and works as a team, performing simulations of clinical cases based on real cases of varying difficulty and complexity.

The course is proving to be very successful due to the high quality of the speakers and the highly practical and applied content of the program.
