A new CTD profiler is now available at ECIMAT for coastal research. It is an SBE 25 plus CTD model, suitable for sampling up to 100 m depth, with a data acquisition rate of 16 readings per second. These features make it an ideal instrument for conducting vertical profiles, as its high sampling rate provides excellent spatial resolution for detecting oceanographic gradients and structures.
In addition to the standard temperature, conductivity, and pressure sensors, this equipment is also equipped with dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll a, and turbidity sensors, with the option to add additional auxiliary sensors.
The dimensions of this equipment (96.5 × 27.9 × 30.5 cm) and its relatively low weight (approximately 22.5 kg) make this CTD manageable from almost any vessel equipped with a small crane, although the presence of a specialized technician is required for its operation.
