Since November 5, ECIMAT has had real-time monitoring of meteorological variables. The sensors installed are part of the real-time monitoring station of the Toralla Oceanographic Observatory, which is located on the ECIMAT dock.
This station is currently operating in test mode and is equipped with an air temperature and relative humidity probe, a wind speed and direction sensor, and a solar irradiance sensor. Once the testing period is complete, the data will be available online, updated every 10 minutes.
This initiative, coordinated by the Physical Oceanography Group and funded through the Call for Grants for the Consolidation and Structuring of Competitive Research Units of the SUG (Consellería de Educación – Xunta de Galicia; European Regional Development Fund), will be complemented in the near future with the installation of oceanographic sensors to measure currents, temperature, salinity, and other variables.
