Within the Galician Plan for Research, Development and Technological Innovation (IN.CI.TE), on May 13, 2008, the Galician Aquaculture Platform (PTXGA) was created, promoted by the Galician Aquaculture Technology Center (CETGA).
The Toralla Marine Sciences Station (ECIMAT) is a member and founding partner of this platform, understanding it as a specific instrument that brings together the most representative agents of the Galician aquaculture sector (for now only the fish farming sector).
In Galicia, Aquaculture is increasingly one of the sectors with the greatest socio-economic relevance. ECIMAT shares the objectives of the PTXGA in terms of the correct planning, research and strategic development of Galician aquaculture, and understands the PTXGA as a meeting place that creates synergies with the sector: companies, research centers, Administration and Universities.
