Between 10 and 17 November 2008, Science Week took place at ECIMAT, dedicated this year to “The colours of the Toralla Sea”. Through this scientific dissemination project we tried to bring people who are not part of the daily life of the Station (around 250 students from various schools in the region and other visitors who came to the Station during the open day) closer to the natural environment and the world of research. To this end, in addition to a guided tour of the intertidal zone of the island, we had a laboratory where we carried out experimental practice with the children and showed them an exhibition with several thematic aquariums and explanatory panels, focusing mainly on the light and colours that we can find in organisms in the marine environment, trying to understand their function and meaning.cv

SCIENCE WEEK 2007
Science Week took place at ECIMAT during the week of November 12 to 16, 2007, as part of the “Marine Life in Toralla” project. The aim was to introduce people and groups who do not have specific training in this field to the world of marine research in a fun and educational way. During this week, students from several schools in the Vigo region visited the facilities of the Marine Science Station, and were able to learn a little more about the marine environment, through activities carried out at the center itself and visits to beaches and rocks on the island of Toralla. Likewise, during the open day, anyone who wanted to visit the center had access to the island.
